Rare Vintage 1970s Thea Porter Emerald Silk Velvet Waistcoat

A true rarity and collector's piece, vintage late 1960s- early 1970s Thea Porter bohemian waistcoat. Made from a lustrous emerald green silk velvet adorned with gold metallic thread border and woven tassels. Fastens with a row of hook and eyes. Cut beautifully to form flatter. Opulence itself- the velvet glows under light!

Labelled size 12. Would best fit modern UK 6-8

Pit to pit: 17.5"

Shoulder seam to seam: 12.5"

Length (taken from centre, which starts approx 1" lower than shoulders): 16.5"

Waist: 14"

Original owner was a silk expert who clearly treasured this piece. In fantastic, barely worn condition.

There is only one small area of wear: a small white stain on the fabric at the bust (you can make it out in photo 5 towards left hand side). This is only very small and due to the lustre of the velvet, only visible on very close inspection.
