Vintage 1960s 1970s Maverick Set White Denim Flares Star Peace Dove Hippie Vest

€327,95

Vintage 1960s 1970s pop art two piece set by Maverick. Reminiscent of Peter Max designs- colour blocked flares with a white base, contrast red waistband and Americana stars with peace doves on the patch pockets, matched with the open vest. A fab hippie summer piece.

While the American flag is traditionally a symbol of patriotism and national unity, in the 1970s hippies re-appropriated it, using it to express their own values of peace, love, and freedom. You can see this on this print, with the inclusion of the peace dove! This use of the flag was part of a broader cultural movement where hippies challenged traditional values and societal norms and as a way to express their rejection of the Vietnam War and other aspects of mainstream American culture.

Note there is no stretch in denim! Would best fit UK 6-8
